Innovate Society is an Australian non-profit organisation that begun in early 2014. Our mission was to connect and inspire young entrepreneurs to work on social issues and introduce the latest technologies to develop new solutions that will improve humanity and our environment.
Ashton always passionate in biology and electronics. He saw a thriving resources, knowledge and technology in biotech. He also wanted to challenge himself with a difficult challenge—something that requires lots of head scratching and something can help human longevity. At that time, Ashton's father was diagnosed myocardial infarction (commonly known as a heart attack). As a result, he took a Bioprinting challenge. At the beginning, he did not realise the scale of the issue. In 2014, around 1,500 patients were on Australian organ transplant waiting lists and it was a huge global issue. More than 8 million people were dying every year due to organ failure or not been able to find or afford a healthy organ.
Help with Wollongong University, partnering with researchers and designers we created trials to replicate human tissue production using 3D printing technology.
